City Council accept the ten (10) percent annexation application/petition and instruct staff to circulate the
petition.
Background Summary:
The City of Auburn received a ten (10) percent annexation application/petition from Val Vorozko {32214
116th Ave SE) for a single parcel located on the east boundary of the city limits adjacent to 116th Avenue
S.E. The parcel (#1682500010) is slightly less than one acre (0.93 acres) and is presently occupied by a
single family dwelling. The area is within the City's potential annexation area. The Comprehensive Plan
designation for the property is single-family residential.
The applicant has expressed an intention to subdivide (short plat) the property in the future. Compre-
hensive Plan Policy CE -3 states the City shall require annexation as a condition of extending sewer
and/or water utility service to properties within the potential annexation area and adjacent to the City
limits. The parcel is adjacent to the City limits. Mr. Vorozko intends to subdivide the property into
additional lots and therefore would require City water and sewer connections to the new lots.
The proposed annexation is also consistent with the anticipated Comprehensive Plan amendment that
will likewise require annexation as a condition to the extension of water and sewer services outside of the
City's existing boundaries.
Attached is a map illustrating the location of the proposed annexation.
