Administrative Recommendation:
City Council approve an all-way stop control at D Street NE/SE and East Main Street.
Background Summary:
The intersection of 'D' Street NE/SE and East Main Street is currently stop controlled for the north and
southbound direction and free-flowing east and westbound. This intersection is adjacent to the newly-
opened Justice Center.
An all-way stop control has been requested at the above-referenced intersection in response to the
access needs of the Auburn Police Department and the desire to increase pedestrian accessibiiity in the
downtown area, The intersection does not meet warrants for an all-way stop control as defined in the
Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices,
The Auburn City Council has the authority to approve placement of stop signs that are not warranted by
engineering standards.
