City Council grant permission to advertise for bids for Project No. C9056, Auburn Way South Sanitary
Sewer Replacement-Phase One.
Background Summary:
Phase One of the Auburn Way South Sanitary Sewer Replacement project will be replacing the existing
concrete sanitary sewer main with a larger PVC sanitary sewer line as it extends from the City limits at
South 368th Place along Auburn Way South and then along Academy Drive and 32nd Street SE and then
back along Auburn Way South to a manhole just south of the Forest Villa mobile home park. The project
is anticipated to begin construction in June 2005.
The sanitary sewer utility (431 Fund) has received a Public Works Trust Fund Loan in the amount of
$2,156,880 for the construction of this project. The sewer utility is building this replacement to handle
continuing growth from the City and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. The Tribe has agreed to pay half of
the costs associated with this project and shall provide said funding prior to award of the construction
contract.
A project budget contingency of $102,856 remains in the Sanitary Sewer 431 fund; $4,155 remains in the
Water 430 fund; and $108,731 remains in the Storm 432 fund.
