Background Summary:
In December 2004 the City of Auburn accepted an "Application for Annexation" from Val Vorozhko (32214
116th Ave SE) for a single parcel that he and his wife own which is located on the east boundary of the
city limits. The parcel (#1682500010) is slightly less than one acre and is presently occupied by a single-
family dwelling. The Vorozhko's plan to subdivide their property. City staff prepared the annexation
petition. In January the City received the signed petition back from Mr. And Mrs. Vorozhko. On February
17 the King County Assessor certified the petition was sufficient to meet the statutory requirements for the
60% petition method of annexation.
City staff request the Council consider the proposed annexation and call for a public hearing. The subject
of the public hearing will be to authorize staff to submit the required "Notice of Intent" to the King County
Boundary Review Board. If the Boundary Review Board approves the annexation, an ordinance will be
prepared to adopt it.
