Administrative Recommendation:
City Council authorize the Mayor to award Contract 05-06, Project Number C9056, Auburn Way South
Sanitary Sewer Replacement Phase -1, to Rodarte Construction on their low bid of $3,072,775.00 plus
Washington States sales tax of $270,404.20 for a total contract price of $3,343,179.20.
Background Summary:
The entire Auburn Way South (AWS) sanitary sewer replacement project will be completed in two phases.
Phase one of the Auburn Way South Sanitary Sewer Replacement project will be replacing the existing
concrete sanitary sewer main with a larger PVC sanitary sewer line as it extends from the City limits at
South 368th Place along AWS and then along Academy Drive and 32nd Street SE and then back along
AWS to a manhole just south of the Forest Villa mobile home park.
A project budget contingency of $129,817 remains in the Sanitary Sewer 431 fund.
Future phasing will include improvements to the water and the storm system along Auburn Way South.
