City Council award Small Works Contract 05-04 Project Number C425A, Pioneer Elementary School
Walkway Improvements, to Hot Mix Pavers Inc. on their low bid of $74,934.17.
Background Summary:
This Project is funded by a WSDOT Safe Routes to Schools grant to the Auburn School District and
provides for installation of approximately 1,780 LF of 6 foot wide asphalt walkways along portions of'F'
Street SE from 25th Street SE to 29th Street SE, and at the corner of 25th Street SE &'H' Street SE.
The Auburn School District has increased their funding to the City for this project by $12,000 for a total of
$82,000 and has asked that two flashing school zone lights be added to M Street SE.
A budget adjustment of $12,000 to allocate the new grant funding revenue from the district is required this
year to fund the walkway project. Once the budget adjustment is complete there will be a project
contingency of $3,319 remaining that may be put towards school zone flashing lights at Pioneer
Elementary.
