City Council award Small Works Contract 05-02, Project Number C422A, Gateway Sign at Peasley-
Canyon Road to SCllnfrastructure, L.L.C. on their low bid of $131 ,063.65 plus WA state sales tax of
$11,533.60 for a total contract price of $142,597.25.
Background Summary:
This contract provides for the construction of the Gateway Sign at Peasley Canyon Road. The major
items of work include constructing a 7 cubic yard, reinforced concrete monument structure with an aged
metal sign and column caps, and installation of landscape amenities which include plantings, an irrigation
system, and sign illumination.
This project requires a budget adjustment because the total gross bid is approximately $41,000 over the
engineer's estimate. The bid amount exceeded the estimate on two significant items of work; the below-
grade installation of the water service line for landscape irrigation, and the power service for irrigation and
illumination. Two bids were received.
A budget adjustment of $28,000 from the General Fund will be required this year to fund the project.
