Administrative Recommendation:
City Council to approve Final Pay Estimate #4 to Contract 04-29 with Lincoln Construction and accept
construction of Project No. C423A, City Hall Improvements.
Background Summary:
This project is complete and the final pay estimate may be approved. The project provided for
improvements to City Hall, and included insulated film for the atrium windows, as well as painting the
metal frames of the atrium; updating of the second floor restrooms; replacing the carpet in the employee's
lunchroom with vinyl tiles, replacing the lights and providing a ceiling grid in the Council Chambers.
With the opening of the Justice Center, the evidence room moved to the new facility. This project also
included expansion and remodeling of that area to provide additional storage for the jail, a couple of
interview rooms, a bail room and an office for the jail supervisor. The expansion also allows for the
storage of personal belongings of the inmates transferred to Yakima, which were previously stored in a
room next to the print shop. That room was converted into an office for the Information Services
Department.
