Resolution No. 3861
Administrative Recommendation:
City Council adopt Resolution No. 3861.
Background Summary:
The Auburn Fire Department has 97 cases of Meals -Ready -to -Eat that were purchased in 2000 in the
event of an emergency situation. The MRE's will soon reach their expiration date of September 14, 2005.
The replacement cost of the MRE's is $4,122.50.
It is the wish of the Auburn Fire Department to donate the surplus MRE's to people in need. Through a
referral from the Auburn Food Bank, the organization "Homeless Outreach Mobilization Efforts" located in
Kent. WA has been contacted and would greatly appreciate the receipt of the MRE's so they can
distribute them to the homeless.
It is therefore requested that Council approve Resolution No. 3861 and that the MRE's be deemed
surplus and subsequently be allowed to be donated to the "Homeless Outreach Mobilization Efforts".
