Assessor, 60% Petition & Legal Description Administrative Recommendation: City Council conduct the public hearing and authorize staff to file an intent to annex with the King County Boundary Review Board. (see Resolution 3914 for further action on this item) Background Summary: In June 2005 the City of Auburn accepted an "Application for Annexation" from James Stipp, 32810 56th Avenue South, for a single parcel that he owns which is located adjacent to the north-western boundary of the city limits up on West Hill. The parcel (Parcel #9262800325) is approximately 4 acres. Mr. Stipp plans to subdivide the property in conjunction with the proposed Nichols annexation. City staff prepared the annexation petition. In August 2005 the City received the signed petition back from Mr. Stipp. Staff submitted the petition to the King County Assessor, who verified that it meets the statutory requirements for the 60% petition method of annexation. Attached is the King County "Annexation Petition Certification". Staff request the Council consider the petition and, if accepted, pass Resolution 3914 authorizing filing the City of Auburn's intent to annex the property. If the Review Board finds the proposed annexation acceptable, then an ordinance to effect the annexation will be prepared and submitted to Council for review and approval.
