RESOLUTION NO. 3963
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF A GRANT FROM THE FIREMAN'S FUND INSURANCE
COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF TWENTY-NINE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($29,000.00) AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO RATIFY THE NECESSARY AGREEMENTS TO
ACCEPT SAID FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company recently launched a
national philanthropic program known as the Fireman's Fund Heritage program,
aimed at supporting firefighters for safer communities; and
WHEREAS, the Auburn Fire Department has sufficiently shown the need
for high capacity inflatable rescue lift bags to enhance suppression and
extrication capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company has elected to
support this need by granting Twenty -Nine Thousand Dollars ($29,000.00) from
the Fireman's Fund Heritage program to the Auburn Fire Department for the
purchase of said equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Auburn hereby accept:) a grant
from the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in the amount of Twenty -Nine
Thousand Dollars ($29,000.00) for the purchase of high capacity inflatable
rescue lift bags. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to ratify the Grant
Compliance Agreement executed between the Fireman's Fund Insurance
Company and the Auburn Fire Department in substantial conformity with the

Agreement attached hereto, designated as Exhibit "A", and incorporatE�d herein
by reference.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implemE�nt such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out directivE:s of the
legislation.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage
and signatures hereon.

Last year, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, headquartered in Novato, Califomia, launched

Grant Compliance Agreement
This agreement Is made and enteral into this Eighteenth day of November, 2005 by and between
fireman's Fund Insurance Company (FFIC) of Novato, Ct3111sotIa, and The City of Auburn
located at 25 West Main Street Auburn, Washington 98002.
' Whereas, it Is intended that the Department will utilize a grant award or donation reCeiNed from FFIC for
the spect purpose -outlined in the Department's grant application andtor approved by FFIC.
FFIC reserves the right to communicate with and visit the Department on an ongoing basis to ensure thz
the finding is utilized for the egress purpose Intended, The Department is required to apply a grant or
donation from FFIC within six months of receipt of funds. Additionally, the Department must supply FFIC
with a copy of the paid Imtoice within 30 days of purchases utifixing funding from a Fireman's Fund
Harftge grant or donation,
The Department must nobly FFIC within 60 days of receipt of funds it it decides to purchase a different
quantity of items than what was awarded by FFIC, or If It. chooses to apply funds differently than origfnall}
intended or approved by FFIC. Unused funds must be retumed'to FFIC.
If the Department plans to use funds for any purpose other thart'originally outlined and approved by FFIC
the Department rtrust first obtain approval from FFIC. In the event that the anent Briding is not uttllzed for
the purposes) approved by FFIC and/or outlines! In the original grant apptl *Wn and FFIC i$ not notified
of any changes to the original request; FFIC reserves the right to revoKe the grant funding or donation,
request the return of the full granttdonaiion amdunt, and eliminate the Department from a*n.elderation for
fi ure funding through the Fireman's Fund Hent k program.
