Budget Impact:
City Council conduct the public hearing on the extension of the moratorium.
Background Summary:
On January 18, 2005, the Auburn City Council adopted Resolution No. 3808 enacting a moratorium, for
an initial period of one year, on the operation, and processing of applications for transitory
accommodations. The moratorium was enacted to provide the City with an opportunity to study the
issues concerning the siting of such transitory accommodations and prepare appropriate revisions to the
City's codes and regulations.
The evaluation and review of code options have not been completed, and it is appropriate to consider
extending the moratorium for an additional six months, with the work plan likewise being extended.
On January 3r', the City Council set today's date for a public hearing on the moratorium extension.
