Background Summary: Resolution No. 3987 would authorize the execution of Contract No. E06-273 between the Washington State Military Department and The Department of Homeland Security (herein after referred to as DHS) and the City of Auburn and authorizing acceptance, appropriation and expenditure of funds in an amount not to exceed Forty Eight Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($48,416) a fixed price, reimbursement by the United States Department of Homeland Security through the Washington State Military Department, Emergency Management Division for the sole purpose of deterring threats or incidents of terrorism as determined by Department of Homeland Security Buffer Zone Protection Program. The funds are provided to the recognized responsible jurisdictions associated with the 47 sites that were pre -determined by DHS as part of the BZPP program; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Auburn certifies compliance with applicable civil rights law. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Purpose. The City Council hereby accepts Contract Number E06-273, in the amount of Forty Eight Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($48,416) from the DHS. This is a fixed price, reimbursement contract. Resolution No. 3987 February 17, 2006 Page 1 Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the expenditure and appropriation of Forty Eight Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($48,416) from DHS. The funds will be used for the SuperMall of the Great Northwest. The current analog video monitoring system will be replaced with digital video monitoring which will be web -linked to the Auburn Police Department. Section 3. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to implement and enter into any agreements or contracts as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect and be in full force and effect upon passage and signatures hereon. DATED and SIGNED this day of , 2006. PETER B.
