Administrative Recommendation:
City Council award of Contract 06-05, Project Number CP0601, C Street NW Road Improvements, to
ICON Materials on their low bid of $696,960.00.
Background Summary:
The purpose of this project is to reconstruct the failed asphalt on "C" Street NW from W. Main Street
through the intersection of 3rd Street NW. All work is to be within existing right-of-way. In addition to the
reconstruction of the asphalt, the abandoned railroad tracks at 3rd Street NW will be removed and minor
storm sewer improvements for road drainage purposes will be constructed.
For this project, an increase in the Authorized Contingency above the standard 5% is necessary as
financial incentives have been included in the Construction Contract for completing construction work in a
timely manner and shortening the road closure duration.
A project budget contingency of $59,740 remains in the 102 fund.
