Background Summary:
In September 2006, Auburn City Council approved Amendment No. 1 to Consultant Agreement
No. AG -C-278 with Northwest Land & Water, Inc. The amendment, which added $37,800 in
compensation to the agreement and added items to the scope of work, was never executed because
further consideration of the issues indicated a need to refine the scope. Amendment No. 1A replaces
Amendment No. 1, adds $42,914 in compensation to the agreement, along with a revised addition to the
original scope of work. The revised amendment raises the original not -to -exceed amount from $23,787 to
$66,701.
Additional funds are necessary to review and prepare water rights options to present to the Department of
Ecology. The specific scope of additional services includes: Evaluation of Report of Examination (ROE)
issued by Ecology for the Lake Tapps Reservoir Water Supply Project Application and its potential
impacts on the City's rights; review and evaluation of potential mitigation options presented to Ecology;
multiple meetings with Ecology and City staff; and preparation of a report summarizing mitigation options
as presented to Ecology.
