Background Summary:
When initially planned, and the Scope of Services agreed with David A. Clark Architects, the Golf Course
Clubhouse building included a restaurant and Pro Shop, but no banquet room facility. Mid way through
the design, the decision was made, first to provide an outdoor covered area for meetings and events, and
then to actually incorporate it into the building as a banquet room. This increased the building size by
one sixth, with commensurate increase in cost of design. This amendment provides for those increased
costs.
The cost of this increased effort for the A&E team is $ 41,000. The budget for the project, structured after
the decision to add this space to the scope was made, and for which bonds were authorized and sold,
included this increased cost of design, and so is not affected by this amended amount.
The original agreed Scope of Work also only envisioned preparation and handling of one set of
documents (drawings, specifications, calculations) necessary to acquire project permits. In actual events,
preparation of several different sets of documents was required, involving two separate
Grading/excavation permits, as well as the general building permit. These required extensive extra
services by the A&E team, particularly the Civil Engineer.
The cost of this additional service is $ 5,269. The budget for the project includes sufficient contingency in
the amount for the Design portion, to accommodate this increase.
The total not-to-exceed amount for this amendment is $ 46,269, increasing the agreement total to
$ 312,000. A project budget contingency of $ 265,000 remains in the Bond fund.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AG-C-327 A BETWEEN THE CITY
AND DAVID A. CLARK ARCHITECTS, PlLC
WHEREAS, the City and David A. Clark Architects, PlLC have previously
entered into a professional services agreement approved on Resolution No.
3950 in December 2005; and
WHEREAS, the initial Scope of Services for the Auburn Golf Course
Clubhouse have changed to now include a banquet room facility, increasing the
building size by one sixth with commensurate increase in cost of design; and
WHEREAS, the original Scope of Work also only envisioned preparation
and handling of one set of documents and in actual events preparation of several
different sets of documents were needed, requiring extensive extra services; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the additional services total a not-to-exceed
amount of $46,269, increasing the agreement total to $312,000; and
WHEREAS, a project budget contingency of $265,000 remains in the
Bond fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Purpose. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are
herewith authorized to execute First Amendment to Agreement for Professional
Services AG-C-327-A with David A. Clark Architects, PlLC. A copy of said
Resolution No. 4109

Agreement is attached hereto, denominated as Exhibit "A" and made a part
hereof as though set forth in full herein.
Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby
authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to
carry out the directions of this resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in full
force upon passage and signatures hereon.

AMENDMENT NO.1 TO AGREEMENT NO. AG-C-327 -A BETWEEN
THE CITY OF AUBURN AND DAVID A. CLARK ARCHITECTS, PLLC
RELATING TO PROJECT NO. c327aO, AUBURN GOLF COURSE CLUBHOUSE
THIS AMENDMENT is made and entered into this day of
, 200_, by and between the CITY OF AUBURN, a
municipal corporation of the State of Washington (hereinafter referred to
as the "CITY"), and David I. Clark Architects, PLLC (hereinafter referred to
as the "CONSUL TANT"), as an Amendment to the Agreement between
the parties for AG-C-327 -A executed on the 19th day of December 2005.
The changes to the agreement are described as follows:
1. CONTRACT TERM: The term of the Agreement for Professional
Services remains unchanged.
2. SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of work is amended to include the
following tasks:
A. Architectural and Engineering services, as described in the original
agreement, to accommodate an expanded program scope;
specifically including the enlargement of the building for a banquet
room to accommodate approximately 150 diners. The room is to
be fully part of the clubhouse structure, with full provision of
building systems, and Code compliant exiting
B. Provision of additional Architectural and Engineering services to
provide drawings, calculations, and other required documents for
two Grading and Excavation permits, separate from the General
Building permit documents to be prepared under the original
Agreement.
3. CLARIFICATION OF SERVICE TERMS: The responsibilities of
the CONSULTANT during construction of the work of the program scope
for which this agreement provides services, shall be as specifically defined
in AlA standard form B163, previously referenced in, and attached to, the
original Agreement.
4. COMPENSATION: The amount of this amendment is $ 46,269.
The total contract amount is increased to a total of $ 312,000.

REMAINING TERMS UNCHANGED: That all other provisions of the Agreement
between the parties for AG-C-327 -A executed on the 19th day of December 2006, shall
remain unchanged, and in full force and effect.
