Auburn and Pacific to make sure that their firefighters and staff are covered by health insurance, it would be beneficial for the Valley Regional Fire Authority to be allowed to participate in the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust benefits program as a quasi-municipal entity, and the City of Auburn, on behalf of the cities of Algona and Pacific, requests that the Valley Regional Fire Authority be allowed to participate in the Association of Resolution 4112 November 1, 2006 Page 1 of 3 Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust benefits program as a quasi- municipal entity; and WHEREAS, the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust requests that a city member of the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) sponsor a non-city entity's request before the non-city entity can participate in the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust benefit programs. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: 1. The City of Auburn, with this Resolution, sponsors the Valley Regional Fire Authority, whose participating members are the cities of Algona, Auburn and Pacific, for application to join the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust as a non-city entity. 2. The City of Auburn requests that the Valley Regional Fire Authority be allowed membership into the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Employee Benefit Trust. 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and signatures hereon.
