Administrative Recommendation:
City Council award Contract 06-24, Project Number CP0630, 2006/2007 Citywide Sidewalk
Improvements, to Construct Company, LLC on their low bid of $419,250.00.
Background Summary:
This project consists of fixing potential tripping hazards on existing sidewalks throughout the City by
replacing sidewalk slabs and installing sidewalk wheelchair ramps at specific locations. Tree roots will be
pruned and root control barriers will be installed as needed; trees will only be removed if absolutely
necessary.
This project will also replace segments of sunken curb and gutter on streets scheduled to be overlaid this
year as part of the 2007 SOS Program. This curb and gutter replacement will be funded by the 103
(Local Street) Fund.
A budget adjustment of $36,268 from the 328 (CIP) fund/account will be required this year to fund the
project.
