City Council call for a public hearing to be held April 16, 2007 on the City's proposal to change building
addresses in the Lakeland Hills area.
Background Summary:
It was discovered that several building addresses in the Lakeland Hills area are not in conformance with
the City's address grid. Staff recommends that 136 addresses be changed to limit any potential for
delayed emergency response. The affected buildin~ owners have been notified of the proposed changes
and a neighborhood meeting was held on March 13 to discuss the address changes.
Auburn City Code Section 15.52.055 provides in part that building addresses may be changed by action
of the City Council upon petition for such change by the building owner, by an outside service agency or
by petition of any City department. City Code also provides that prior to acting on any proposal to
change a building address, the City Council shall conduct at least one public hearing on the proposed
changes (unless the change was petitioned by the building owner).
Staff recommends that the City Council set the date of April 16, 2007 for the required public hearing on
the address changes.
