Administrative Recommendation:
City Council grant permission to enter into Consultant Agreement No. AG-C-288 with HCWL Engineers,
Inc. for engineering services for Project No. C518A, Downtown Storm Water Quality Facility.
Background Summary:
The purpose of the project is to provide a storm water quality facility to treat a portion of the discharge
originating within the western portion of the Auburn Downtown Planning Area, as well as those properties
adjacent to Clay Street. The Storm Utility recently completed acquisition of a five-acre parcel located
near the northeastern end of Clay Street to construct the project. The project is to be generally consistent
with the capital improvement for E-Basin as recommended in the City of Auburn 2002 Comprehensive
Drainage Plan. This improvement is identified in the Plan as Alternative 2 -Minimum City Commitment
Alternative.
With this agreement, the consultant will complete preliminary engineering for the project. The anticipated
cost for this agreement is $75,000.00.
