RESOLUTION NO. 4 2 0 7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A
CONTRACT WITH AN EXECUTIVE SEARCH FIRM
FOR A PLANNING, BUILDING AND COMMUNITY
DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn is engaged in various municipal functions,
including Planning, Building and Community Services; and
WHEREAS, currently the City is without a Planning, Building and
Community Services Director and has been so since April 2007; and
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has posted the job announcement in
various publications as well as on the City's website and has not received an
adequate number of qualified applicants thus far; and
WHEREAS, in order to fill this position, the City has a need to negotiate a
contract with an executive search firm to locate an able and qualified Planning,
Building and Community Director, the cost of which contract may exceed the
Mayor's current authority of $25,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to negotiate and execute an
Agreement with an executive search firm, the total compensation of which shall
not exceed $35,000.00 without further authorization.

Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such administrative
procedures as may be necessary to carry. out the directives of this legislation.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in full force
upon passage and signatures hereon.
