Administrative Recommendation:
City Council to conduct a public hearing on Resolution No. 4194 previously passed on June 4, 2007. No
further action by Council is necessary to continue the moratorium.
Background Summary:
On December 18, 2006, the Auburn City Council approved Resolution No. 4128; a moratorium on the
filing of licenses, approvals or installation of used manufactured homes within the City, other than in
mobile home parks.
This moratorium was passed in response to community concerns regarding the potential negative impact,
either real or perceived, of used manufactured homes on the values of site built homes or new
manufactured homes.
On June 4, 2007 the Auburn City Council passed Resolution No. 4194 extending the existing moratorium
for an additional six months until December 17, 2007 and setting July 2, 2007 as the public hearing date
on the moratorium extension. This date established for the hearing is required to be conducted pursuant
to RCW 35A 63 220 within 60 days of the adoption of the resolution for the moratorium.
During this six month period staff will continue to work on drafting regulations to address the siting of
manufactured homes on individual lots within the City.
