City Council award Small Works Contract 07-11, Project CP0721, Sewer Relining, 19th Drive NE and
Riverview, to Michels Corporation on their low bid of $69,512.00 plus WA state sales tax of $6,186.57 for
a total contract price of $75,698.57.
Background Summary:
The purpose of this project is to eliminate inflow and infiltration through the pipe joints in approximately
1,500 lineal feet of sanitary sewer pipe located in 19th Street NE, Riverview Drive, and 22"d Street NE.
Recent TV inspection of this pipe system shows very heavy inflow of groundwater. Since the streets
have recently been resurfaced and the sewer pipe is in good conditions, the project intent shall be met
using trenchless techniques such as pipe relining.
Construction should start in September and should take approximately one month to complete.
The funds for this project are included in the 431 Sewer Repair & Replacement Program and a budget
contingency of $32,516 remains in that fund.
