City Council approve Change Orders #5 & #6 in the amount of $ 418,542 to Contract 06-21 with Briere &
Associates for work on Project No. C327A0, Auburn Golf Course Clubhouse Project .
Background Summary:
This is a project to construct a new clubhouse and restaurant at the City's Auburn Golf Course. The
originally awarded contract provided for the major portion of construction of the building involved. As
noted at the time of the original award, separate efforts were required for interior construction of services
and finishes for the Restaurant and kitchen, to be operated by a Concessionaire. These two Change
Orders provide for construction of those services and finishes.
Change Order #5 provides Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishes for the kitchen.
Change Order #6 provides the finishes in the Restaurant Dining room.

SUBJECT: Change Order No. 586, Briere & Associates
Auburn Golf Course Clubhouse Project
Attached is proposed Change Orders No. 5 & No. 6 to our contract with Briere & Associates for
construction of the Clubhouse at the Auburn Golf Course. I recommend approval and signature
execution of these Change Orders.
Change Order No. 5 provides for the Tenant Improvement -Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical
construction for the kitchen area of the Clubhouse Restaurant space. Original expectation was
that this work would be accomplished by the Concessionaire. In the end it was determined to
be done by the City, and we have negotiated this Change Order to accomplish the work with our
main building Contractor. The cost is the result of extensive negotiation, both as to scope with
the concessionaire, and as to cost with Briere & Associates.
Change Order No. 6 provides for the Tenant Improvement -Interior Finishes of the Clubhouse
Restaurant space. Again,. work originally contemplated to be done by the Concessionaire is
now being done by the City through the main building Contractor.
An Agenda Bill for Council Consideration of these items is attached.

Provide complete tenant improvements for the general kitchen & bar area and as indicated in COPR 12. This work shall become
phase 2 and shall have a new completion contract date as indicated below.

The Contract Sum prior to this Change Order was ; 2,655,103.00
The Contract Sum will be increased by this Change Order in the amount of s 362,483.00

NOTE: This Change Order does not include changes in the Contract Sum, Contract Time or Guaranteed Maximum Price which
have been authorized by Construction Change Directive until the cost and time have been agreed upon by both the Owner and
Contractor, in which case a Change Order is executed to supersede the Construction Change Directive.
