Phase 1, to Nova Contracting, Inc. on their low bid of $593,359.00 plus WA state sales tax of $44,791.83
for a total contract price of $638,150.83.
Background Summary:
This project will decommission the White Mountain Trails and Rainier Shadows sewer pump stations and
replace existing force main sewer lines with new gravity lines. The new lines will be located along 118th
Ave SE, 124th Ave SE, and SE 304th St in Lea Hill (See Attached Vicinity Map for Specific Locations).
The new lines will be connected to the new sewer pump station proposed to be constructed by the
Verdana development, located within the Kent property on Lea Hill.
For timing purposes, the project has been split into two phases that will be bid and constructed
separately. Phase 1 will install the new gravity sewer lines. Phase 2 will connect the new lines to the new
Verdana pump station and decommission the White Mountain Trails and Rainier Shadows pump stations.
This contract award is for Phase 1 only. Phase 2 will be completed after the proposed sewer pump station
in Verdana is online, which is anticipated in late 2007.
A project contingency of $8,841 remains in the Sewer Improvements Program of the 431 fund. It is
expected that these funds, plus an additional $85,714 from the Sewer Improvement Program will be
required to complete Phase 2.
