Background Summary: The City received a federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant through the Puget Sound Regional Council in the amount of $290,000 to partially fund the Intelligent Transportation System Project, which allows signals on Auburn's arterial street network to be remotely controlled from the Traffic Management Center. The grant requires a 13.5% match, which the City has budgeted. The remainder of the project has been financed with a combination of Federal Highway Administration grant funds, a Public Works Trust Fund loan, contributions from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and King County, and City funds. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows: Resolution No. 4236 September 4, 2007 Page 1 Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to accept the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality grant for $290,000 with a required local match of 13.5% to help finance the Intelligent Transportation System project. Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to implement such other administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation. Section 3.
