Administrative Recommendation:
City Council grant permission to enter into Consultant Agreement No. AG-C-312 with The Transpo Group
Inc. for Engineering Services for Project No. CP0752, M Street SE Sidewalk LID.
Background Summary:
The M Street SE Sidewalk Local Improvement District (LID) will construct sidewalks on the west side of M
Street SE between 29th Street SE and 37th Street SE. This project will be partially City funded and
partially funded by the nearby property owners through LID No. 350, which was formed by Council at the
August 6, 2007 City Council meeting. Staff anticipates construction of the sidewalk will take place in the
spring of 2008.
Staff has selected The Transpo Group Inc. to provide the Engineering Services for the above-referenced
project which include:
- Designing the sidewalks.
- Preparing the construction documents.
- Providing construction management assistance.
The anticipated consultant costs for the project support are $38,000.
The project budget will be budgeted within the 328 (CIP) Fund in a future budget amendment. The total
project cost is approximately $240,000. As part of the LID, the City is obligated to contribute one half of
the project costs with the remainder being paid by the LID collections.
