Background Summary:
The 8`h St NE and R St NE Signal (CP0701) consists of constructing a new traffic signal at the
intersection of 8`h St NE and R St NE. Consultant work will include the design and preparation of contract
documents. Environmental permitting and right-of-way acquisition work will be completed by City staff.
Amendment #1 to INCA's Consultant Agreement addresses additional design work, which includes amid-
block half signal, a U-turn/Bus turn-out lane, a retaining wall, sidewalks, and channelization. The
Consultant amendment work is estimated to cost $37,000. The total consultant costs for design
engineering, including this amendment are $93,000.
A project increase of $500,000 from the 102 arterial street fund/account may be necessary at a future
date. As design progresses and is finalized, a more accurate project accounting will be developed.
