Background Summary: ACC 2.45.010 addresses the membership and terms of office of the Planning Commission. Currently, the number of members is limited to seven (7). Given the recent Lea Hill and West Hill annexations, which increased the population of the city by approximately 30%, it is desirable to provide the Mayor and Council with the flexibility to increase the size of the Commission. The proposed ordinance will allow for the appointment of an additional member, to bring the total number of commissioners to eight (8). The basic size of the Commission will remain at seven; the proposed code amendment will provide the option of adding an additional member should the Mayor and Council deem it appropriate.
