Administrative Recommendation:
City Council ratify an interfund loan from the General Fund (Fund 001) to the Special Revenue Fund
(Fund 118).
Background Summary:
An interfund loan of $20,000 was made from the General Fund (Fund 001) to the Special Revenue Fund
specifically designated as the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (Fund 118) to cover authorized
expenditures for the JAG grant while the City waits for reimbursement from the Bureau of Justice
Assistance.
Ordinance No. 4354 authorizes the Finance Director, with the approval of the Mayor, to make interfund
loans which shall be subject to the ratification of the City Council at the next regular City Council Meeting.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR, WITH APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR, TO EFFECT
INTERFUND LOANS AND REQUIRING RATIFICATION OF SUCH INTERFUND
LOANS AT THE NEXT REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING.
WHEREAS, the City Council is required to approve
interfund loans; and
WHEREAS, given the scheduling of the Council Meetings,
interim authority subject to the Council's ratification is
necessary; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that such interim authority
be vested in the Finance Director with the approval of the
Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the
Finance Director, with the approval of the Mayor, to make
interfund loans which shall be subject to the ratification
of the City Council at the next regular City Council
Meeting. If at the next available City Council Meeting, the
City Council does not ratify and approve the interfund loan,
then the term of the loan will expire as of the date that
the City Council disapproves the interfund loan.

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Auburn
hereby authorizes that Council action on such interim
interfund loans may be approved on the consent agenda of the
City Council. The City Council shall be authorized to
approve such interfund loans by motion as part of its
approval of the consent agenda.
Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
out the directions of this legislation.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.

Clerk of the City of Auburn, a Municipal Corporation and
Code City, situate in the County of King, State of
Washington, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full,
true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 4354 of the
ordinances of the City of Auburn, entitled "AN ORDINANCE."
I certify that said Ordinance No. 4354 was duly passed
by the Council and approved by the Mayor of the said City of
Auburn, on the the 5th day of July A.D., 1989.
I further certify that said Ordinance No. 4354 was
published as provided by law in the Valley Daily News, a
daily newspaper published in the City of Auburn, and of
general circulation therein, on the 9th day of July, A.D.,
1989.
