Administrative Recommendation:
City Council award Contract 08-07, Project No. CP0759, Olympic Middle School Pedestrian
Improvements, to Rodarte Construction Inc. on their low bid of $131,481.00.
Background Summary:
This project will construct crosswalks, flashing beacon signs and a 1,265 lineal foot asphalt path along the
east side of H Street SE adjacent to Olympic Middle School. All work is to be within existing right-of-way
or on school district property.
Construction for this project is anticipated to begin in July 2008 and be completed in September 2008,
weather permitting.
The total project cost is estimated to be $207,500. A project increase of $22,500 from the 102 Arterial
Street fund is necessary; however, it will not require a budget adjustment since it is anticipated that the
budgeted expenditures in the 102 fund will not be exceeded this year.
