Administrative Recommendation:
City Council award Contract 08-11, Project No. CP0810, SE 316th Place Traffic Calming Improvements, to
Dennis R Craig Construction on their low bid of $69,916.50.
Background Summary:
This project will construct traffic circles at both the SE 316th Place/1151h Ave SE and SE 316th Place/114th
Ave SE intersections. The project includes constructing the concrete curbing, associated signing and
road improvements, and installing topsoil in the traffic circles in preparation for landscaping. All work is to
be within existing right-of-way.
After construction of the project, the Parks Department will provide and install landscape plantings and
bark mulch within the traffic circles.
Construction for this project is anticipated to begin in September 2008 and be completed in November
2008, weather permitting.
The total project cost is estimated to be $108,400. There is $200,000 budgeted for the 2008 Traffic
Calming Improvements in the 328 (Capital Improvement) Fund.
