AGENDA BILL APPROVAL FORM
Agenda Subject: Ordinance No. 6208 Date: November 4, 2008
Department: Attachments: Budget Impact:
Public Works Ordinance No. 6208 and Maps $ 0
Administrative Recommendation:
City Council introduce and adopt Ordinance No. 6208.
Background Summary:
Ordinance No. 6208 relating to restricted parking on the south side of 4'h Street NE between E Street NE
and J Street NE would change the current signage and City code to better accommodate the needs of the
Auburn School District for loading busses in that area.
The ordinance would extend the school bus loading zone by 250 feet to accommodate busses that must
currently load in a two hour parking area. This will reduce the two-hour parking zone by 250 feet. The
ordinance would also change the effective time for the loading zone from 6am-4pm to 6am-3pm. The
extra hour is unnecessary for school bus loading needs. Additionally, by changing the time it also allows
for accommodation of parking in late afternoon and is consistent with the time restrictions of the two hour
parking zones on that corridor.
