Administrative Recommendation:
City Council approve Final Pay Estimate No. 7 to Contract 06-10 in the amount of $8,894.18, for a total
contract price of $251,137.83 , with Nova Contracting, Inc. and accept construction of Project No. C523A,
2006 Storm Pond Improvements Project.
Background Summary:
The project provided aesthetic landscape improvements and engineering improvements to two existing
storm drainage detention facilities, provided improved function and visual enhancement. See the
attached Project Maps.
Pond Site 1: Lloyd's Pit North is located adjacent to Terrace Drive and 15th St NW. Aesthetic
enhancement to this pond consisted of clearing and grading, hydroseeding, planting Douglas Fir Trees,
installing a new perimeter fence, and installing a maintenance driveway and gates. Engineering
enhancement consisted of installing trash racks on pipe inlets and installing an additional catch basin.
Pond Site 2: Meade Pond is located adjacent to the intersection of D PI SE and 14th St SE. Aesthetic
enhancement to this pond consisted of filling in the pond to grade and installing a maintenance driveway.
Engineering enhancement consisted of installing new catch basins, additional piping, and installing a
water quality infiltration system.
A project budget contingency of $102,775 remains in the 432 Storm Drainage Fund.
