Background Summary: The City of Auburn operates an active Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. Federal funding has become available to provide supplies and equipment to CERT programs throughout King County. The City of Auburn, through a grant-funded temporary staff position, will act as the lead agency for this project, ensuring equitable distribution of supplies and equipment to programs throughout the County, including our own program. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Purpose. The City Council of the City of Auburn hereby accepts a grant from the King County Office of Emergency Management in the amount of Twenty Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety One Dollars and Fifty Eight Cents ($23,591.58) to fund King County Community Emergency Response Team supply acquisition and distribution. Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor of the City of Auburn is hereby authorized to implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this resolution.
