7:30 AM meeting called to order by Chairperson Dan Rollins.
Paul Krauss indicated that the hangar roofing project would be presented to City Council at their meeting on
September 8th. If approved the project will get underway the end of the week.
It was also reported that both the hangar infrastructure contract and corresponding wetlands mitigation
contract were ready to go to Council. There were some final arrangements however to work out with the
FAA With regard to the availability of grant money. It appeared that both contracts would go to Council for
award during September.
Chairman Dan Rollins suggested canceling the regular October 1st meeting and replacing it with a
combination Board and Tenants meeting. The other members agreed. John Anderson will send out notices
to the tenants for a 6:30 p.m. meeting on Thursday, October 15th, at City Hall.
John Anderson said he had once again met with Jim Mast of the FAA with regards to getting a GPS
approach established at Auburn Municipal Airport. He handed out a draft approach put together by Mr.
Mast for review and discussion. He indicated that the next step was to have survey work done to confirm
the elevation of certain points on and off Airport property so Mr. Mast can finalize the approach and
circulate it to other FAA divisions for comment. Further reports will be made at future meetings.
The first meeting of the Minimum Standards Advisory Board Meeting was established for September 15,
1998.
Comments were made with regard to the Russian aircraft next to the road at the end of the field and their
lack of eye appeal. John Anderson will contact the owner and have him move them to a less visible
location.
The question of getting students from the court reporting division of GRCC was discussed. John Anderson
will contact the College.
Meeting adjourned.
