I. Call to Order, Approval of Minutes, Introductions Approval of Minutes: Chair Nancy Colson called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm. Ms. Colson called for approval of the May minutes. Commissioner Tanya Rottle moved the minutes be approved as submitted. Commissioner Linda Elliott seconded the motion. Motion approved. II. Committee Reports: Commissioner Pat Gallagher reminded the Commission to attend the dedication of the newest public artwork, Flight and Swing by artist Susan Zoccola on Wednesday, June 3, 5:30 p.m. at the Auburn Golf Course. Commissioner Pat Judd reported her attendance at the Redmond Arts Commission presentation of "Transforming Cities with Public Art" with artist & architect Christopher Janney. Mr. Janney's presentation was specific his portfolio of artwork, and did not address the topic the title of the presentation implied. Councilmember Rich Wagner reported that Ordinance 6243 would be discussed at the next Public Art Committee meeting on June 25 and at the Arts Commission's regular meeting in July. III. ArtsEd Washington ArtsEd Washington Executive Director Una McAlinden presented an overview regarding the mission of ArtsEd Washington and reviewed the importance of arts education in the public school system and catalyzing community-based leadership in support of an arts-inclusive curriculum. Discussion followed Ms. McAlinden's presentation regarding the topic of arts education, in general. Superintendant Kip Herron provided an overview regarding arts curriculum in Auburn Schools. Other New Business Cultural Arts Manager Laurie Rose distributed the minutes from the SOCO Culture recent retreat for arts commissioners from around south county for AAC review.
