3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY
4 OF AUBURN TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY AND GRAY &
5 OSBORNE, INC. RELATING TO STREET IMPROVEMENT NO. 291.
6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBUI2N, WASHINGTON, IN A
7 REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
8 Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
9 Auburn, Washington, are hereby authorized to execute Amendment
10 No. 2 to Contract for Professional Engineering Services
11 between the city and GRAY & OSBORNE, INC. relating to Street
12 Improvement No. 291. Amendment No. 1 was authorized by
13 Resolution No. 2182 dated March 18, 1991. A copy of the
14 Amendment is attached hereto, designated as Exhibit "A" and
15 incorporated by reference in this Resolution.
16 Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
17 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry
18 out the directives of this legislation.

This Amendm nt No. 1 to the exi~ting C ntract for Professional Engineering Services, entered
into the day of 992 by the City of Auburn, King County, Washington,
hereina fter ca l le d t he C I T Y, or O W N E R, an d Gray & Os borne, Inc., Consu lting Engineers,
Seattle, Washington, hereinafter called the ENGINEER.
WITNESSETH: That there now exists between the CITY and the ENGINEER a Contract for
"Professional Engineering Services" for the planning and preparation of Plans, Specifications,
and Contract Documents for the Project described as "Street Improvement #291", which
Contract provides therein for the Engineering Services under Article II, "Objectives and Scope
of Work."
WHEREAS: The CITY is desirous to have the ENGINEER perform additional work as
provided under Article XI: Extra Work.
Now, therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements herein contained, the
parties hereto mutually agree to as follows:
Those parts of Article II, "Objectives and Scope of Work", as shown on pages 2, 3, and 4 of the
original contract document, and Exhibit A of said March 5, 1990, Contract for Professional
Engineering Services is herewith amended to include the following described additional tasks
of work to be accomplished at the direction of the CITY, together with a method of
compensation.
ARTICLE II
OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE OF WORK
The following is a list of additional services to be furnished by the ENGINEER which will be
augmented by the ENGINEER upon authorization of the City of Auburn.
1. Authorize our subconsultant, Kittleson and Associates, to design new foundations
for the new signals, in lieu of utilizing the existing foundations. Revise the
project plans specifications and cost estimates to indicate same.
2. Authorize our subconsultant, Kittleson and Associates, to provide additional field
reconaissance, meet with City staff and the local power company in order to
utilize existing electrical conduits in the design. Revise drawings to show
detailed design location of junction boxes and existing conduits.
EXHIBIT "A" (Enpineerinia Fees)
The fees due and paid to the ENGINEER by the CITY for their services furnished under this
Contract Amendment, shall be as set forth herein.
1. For services furnished under Article II (as noted above and herein), the total cost for
additional engineering services shall not exceed $3,733.00.
