Artspace Gochoel said the commission will be able to allocate $2,500 to pay for half of the pre- feasibility study to explore an Artspace artist live/work project in Auburn. Artspace, a leading nonprofit real estate developer of live/work space for artists, designates historic buildings and works with the community to transform them into artist space. At the commission's May meeting, the Mayor indicated he was willing to dedicate $2,500 in city funds to cover the other half of the pre-feasibility study. Commissioner Lynn Norman; Nancy Colson, Auburn Symphony board president; and Mike Morisette, Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce president, are drafting a letter to the Mayor's office outlining the partnership between the chamber, the city and the arts commission to initiate a contract with Artspace for a pre-feasibility study. A preliminary study is low risk, and with so many questions yet to be answered it's wise to complete a pre-feasibility study, Gochoel said. (more) Arts Commission Minutes, June 2003 Page 2 IV.
