Staff Report June Month End Report Cultural Arts Manager Laurie Rose reviewed the June month-end staff report. . The 4th of July Festival was a good event. Attendance was lower than in previous years (approximately 2000), but vendors reported higher sales than previous years. The Emerald City Classic Car Club could not participate this year, so City staff arranged for vehicles to carry dignitaries in the parade from Scarff Ford and Brewer Chrysler. Miniature golf was an added activity this year. The community booths were placed with the arts/craft booths in the "booth grove" on the grass, which worked very well for all vendors. City staff is reviewing the 4th of July Festival for ways to revitalize the event and promote increased attendance. . Summer concerts, movies and entertainment will begin this week and run through August 18. Further promotion of Auburn Idol auditions by the City resulted in a number of interested participants and increased enrollment.
