Meeting Minutes
Commissioners present: Herman Ansingh, Kristen Brock, Lela Brugger, Nancy Colson, Linda
Elliott, Amanda Flanery, Pat Gallagher, Steve LePenske, Tanya Rottle, Pam Smith, Barbara
Sharrard, Councilman Rich Wagner
Commissioners absent: Anne Baunach (Excused)
Staff present: Laurie Rose, Cultural Arts Manager; Megan Myers, Cultural Arts Specialist
Call to order: Commission Chair Pam Smith called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m.
Approval of Minutes, Introductions
Ms. Smith called for approval of the May minutes. Commissioner Herman Ansingh
moved the May minutes be approved as submitted. Commissioner Amanda Flannery
seconded the motion. Motion approved.
II. Public Art
A memo regarding public art funding options was presented to council at the PCD
meeting on May 29. In light of the Council's 2016 Plan, a Percent for Art program and a
Private Development Incentive Package is being researched by Cultural Arts Staff.
Discussion followed regarding Auburn's current public art collection, program
guidelines, past selection processes, program characteristics and public art outreach.
III. New Business
At the June 6th Soroptomist Meeting, Lynn Norman will be notified of her nomination for
Washington State Arts Alliance's (WSAA) Local Hero Award.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
