A. Call to Order - Chairperson Ken Bradford
B. Review of June 12, 2007 Minutes. Motion by Warren Olsen and second by
Tom Hikida to accept August 13, 2007 Minutes.
C. Old Business:
Val Bain Property Sale - The property was appraised by Independent
Appraisal Group NW, LLP. Appraisal value is stated as 3.8 million
dollars. The city will continue to pursue the possibility of purchasing this
property.
D. New Business:
Petition - Art Purchase Award - A petition has been drafted and signed
by board members present to acquire one piece of artwork as displayed in
the cemetery office this June.
Katie Rowe, MW1- Katie will be back working at the cemetery as of
September 4, 2007. Welcome back, Katie!
Chapel of Memories - Ribbon Cutting - Scheduled for today at 3:00.
Pictures on Crypt shutters - The cemetery board has given a verbal
approval to allow ceramic-steel photos on crypt shutters. Craig Hudson is
looking into existing regulations involving crypts. Photographs would be
an additional source of revenue and would permit us to monitor the quality
of photos currently being taped to shutters. Technology has increased in
time to allow for an acceptable product fully warranted against defects.
E. Reports:
Columbarium Update - In the last shipment of glass, several pieces were
broken in transit. Once the new glass is received, the columbarium will be
complete.
Budget Update - As of the end of July, the cemetery was $27,000 over
projected revenue. Marker sales were up from prior months.
F. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 2:35 PM.
