HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-08-2008MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY BOARD MEETING Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 2:00 PM Members Present: Ken Bradford, Tom Hikida, Warren Olsen, Fred Helser & Greg Dobbs Staff Present: Craig Hudson and Lois Almeda A. Call to Order - Chairperson Ken Bradford B. Review of February 12th, 2008 Minutes. Motion by Warren Olson and second by Tom Hikida to accept February 12, 2008 Minutes. C. Old Business: 7th Addition Development - Memory Heights - Rockery is complete. Easter Sunrise Service - We had a record turnout, over 100 people attended, even with inclement weather. There was a piece written in the Tacoma News Tribune about the service. D. New Business: Seasonal Help - We currently have two seasonal employees working and are looking for additional help. Scott deCarteret Departure - Scott has left the City to work at the Buckley City Cemetery. He will be missed. Pat Makings has been hired as a Maintenance Worker II. He brings with him 27 years of experience. Memorial Day Preparations - Tom Hikida will assemble crew to be at the cemetery gates Memorial Day weekend. Thank you Tom! We will ask for police assistance at the lower gate, to make entering and exiting the cemetery safer during peak hours. Possible Land Acquisition - The Howard Fields family has approached the cemetery about the possibility of purchasing a 5 acre parcel to the west of the cemetery. More details to come. E. Reports: Budget Update - March 2008 was a good month for revenue. With contract payments we brought in over $82,000.00. At the same time last year, we were $1500 in the red.
