Cyril Van Selus nominated Dick Kammeyer for chairperson for the year of 2005; Dick
Kammeyer seconded the nomination. Motion carried and Dick Kammeyer will be
chairperson for 2005.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Will Lathrop updated the recruiting of candidates as follows: 1 entry level candidate
who is scheduled at the beginning of next month for the physical exam (the candidate
failed the first time); 1 lateral candidate in the background process; and 5 entry level
candidates in the background process; we plan to send out another 3 conditional offers
to entry level candidates.
Gail stated we have 2 candidates who have voluntarily removed themselves from the
entry-level list (both accepted positions with other agencies).
Will Lathrop stated that Chief Kelly is requesting to prepare the eligibility list testing for
Commanders. Dick Kammeyer asked when the list expires and Gail stated that we
currently do not have a list in place, however in the absence of a list we have the
provisional rule. Joe Beck agreed that the provisional rule is in place to make a
temporary appointment in the absence of a list and there is nothing in our rules that
state we must have a list in place.
