CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of August 8, 2006
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held August 8,
2006, in Resource Room #2 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West
Main Street, Auburn, WA. The following members were in attendance.

STAFF PRESENT: Deputy Police Chief Bob Lee; Joe Beck, Assistant City Attorney;
Fire Marshal Jeff Stottlemeyer; and Gail Solberg, Civil Service Examiner
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.
Approval of July 11, 2006 Civil Service meeting minutes.
Minutes were accepted as written.
COMMISSION
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Solberg reported that we conducted oral boards for 10 additional entry-level candidates;
of the 10 candidates, 2 passed the oral board and were extended conditional offers of
employment.
We are currently in the process of conducting background investigations on 6 entry-
level candidates and 1 lateral candidate from King County. We are recruiting for 6
positions.
Deputy Chief Lee reported that we are currently focusing on attracting additional lateral
candidates.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Solberg reported that Jeff Stottlemeyer was appointed to the position of Fire Marshall
and that we will be starting the planning process for the promotional test for the
Assistant Fire Marshall. In addition Solberg reported that Dave Goff has been
temporarily appointed to the Assistant Fire Marshall position.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting
adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
