CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of July 10, 2007
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held July 10,
2007, in Resource Room #2 located on the second-floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West
Main Street, Auburn, WA. The following members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Kammeyer, Chairman; Member; Chuck Booth, Member
STAFF PRESENT: Assistant City Attorney, Stephen King; Sarah Borden, Civil Service
Examiner; Bob Lee, Deputy Police Chief;
ACTION:
Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:38 p.m.
Approval of June 12, 2007 Civil .Service meeting minutes.
Minutes were accepted as written. Booth moved. to accept Minutes and Kammeyer
seconded.
COMMISSION
Sarah Borden presented the new Entry Level Police Officer Civil Service List which
integrated the results of the previous oral board from June 15, 2007. Booth motioned
to accept and Kammeyer seconded.
Sarah Borden presented the new Lateral Police Officer Civil Service List which
integrated the results of the previous oral board from July 2, 2007. Booth motioned to
accept and Kammeyer seconded.
Deputy Police Chief Bob Lee stated that the police department will have their largest
class starting the August 13t" academy. The Auburn Police Department was guaranteed
8 slots and we have 7 qualified candidates to start the academy and they will graduate
December 20th 2007. Auburn did a swap with Pacific for the one available slot and we
will have their slot in September academy. We will have 10 people on field training in
January 2008.
At the August meeting we have a hearing schedule with one candidate that was
removed from the entry level police officer list.

Sarah Borden reported that we are continuing with the open application process for
entry and lateral police candidates.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting
adjourned at 3:43 p.m. Booth adjourned and Kammeyer seconded.
