The following members were in attendance. MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Kammeyer, Chairman; Chuck Booth, Member; Cyril Van Selus, Member. STAFF PRESENT: Terry Mendoza, Civil Service Examiner Pro Tem; Jim Kelly, Police Chief; and Steven Gross, Assistant City Attorney. ACTION: Chairman Kammeyer called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. Approval of the March 10, 2009, Civil Service Commission meeting minutes: • Minutes were accepted as written. Motion by Van Selus, Booth seconded. Chairman Kammeyer advised the commission that the Civil Service Secretary/Chief Examiner position is officially vacant and recommended appointing the current Civil Service Examiner Pro Tem. 0 Motion by Booth to appoint Terry Mendoza as Secretary/Chief Examiner, Van Selus seconded. Terry Mendoza presented the following: • Civil Service entry level Police Eligibility list; adopted as published. Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded. • Civil Service entry level Correctional Officer Eligibility list; adopted as published. Motion by Booth, Van Selus seconded. • Information regarding revising the current entry level Police Officer written examination process. POLICE DEPARTMENT: The following updates were provided: • The number of candidates in the background process and the number of conditional offers out for entry level police, lateral level police and police services specialist. - ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned at 3:35 p.m. cc: Commission Members Brenda Heineman, Director of Human Resources/Risk Mgmt Mayor Peter B.
