MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Committee Vice Chair Pete Lewis called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Members present included: Vice Chair Pete Lewis and Member Stacey
Brothers. Chair Jeanne Barber was excused from the meeting. Others
present included: Mayor Charles Booth, Finance Director Diane L.
Supler, Senior Planner Al Hicks, and City Clerk Danielle Daskam. Guests
present included Virginia Haugen.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of the June 5, 2000 Finance Committee meeting.
Motion by Member Brothers, second by Vice Chair Lewis to
approve the June 5, 2000 minutes as corrected to reflect a vote of
"2-1" under Item IV.E, Ordinance No. 5404.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2-0.

amount of $2,719,284.92 for Period 6 and dated June 19,
2000.
Payroll

Payroll check numbers 258528 to 258799 in the amount of
$609,140.95 and electronic deposit transmissions in the
amount of $656,647.97 for a grand total of $1,265,788.92 for
the pay period covering May 30, 2000 to June 13, 2000.
Motion by Member Brothers, second by Vice Chair Lewis to
recommend City Council approval of claims and payroll
vouchers.

IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
Resolution No. 3232
O3.4.1.4
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, King County,
Washington, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an
Agreement for Professional Services between Henderson, Young &
Company and the City of Auburn, to update the existing Capital
Facilities Plan for the City of Auburn.
Finance Director Supler presented Resolution No. 3232 which
authorizes an Agreement with Henderson, Young and Company to
update the existing Capital Facilities Plan.
Motion by Member Brothers, second by Vice Chair Lewis to
recommend City Council adopt Resolution No. 3232.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0.
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS
Wyndham Publications Book About King County
Senior Planner Al Hicks reported on discussions with Mr. Halverson
of Wyndham Publications, which is publishing a book about King
County. The Committee previously discussed the issue of the
Wyndham Publications book about King County on May 15, 2000.
Mr. Halverson approached the City through Mr. Hicks regarding the
possibility of including two to four pages of Auburn promotional
material in the King County book at a cost of $12,000 to $20,000.
The Committee discussed the cost effectiveness of the publication
as a tourism tool. It was consensus of the Committee to pursue a
cooperative effort with the Chamber of Commerce for promotional
brochures and materials rather than through Wyndham
Publications.
Council Salaries and Benefits
Vice Chair Lewis requested information regarding medical
insurance coverage for Councilmembers and an update on the
Personnel Department's survey of Council salaries at the next
Finance Committee meeting.
