MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Nancy Backus called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the
Council Conference Room at Auburn City Hall, located at 25 West Main
Street in Auburn. Chair Backus and Vice Chair Peloza were present.
Member Norman was excused. Present during the meeting were Mayor
Peter B. Lewis, City Attorney Daniel B. Heid, Finance Director Shelley
Coleman, Parks, Arts and Recreation Director Daryl Faber, Transportation
Planner Chris Hankins, and City Clerk Danielle Daskam.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Minutes of the May 4, 2009 Finance Committee meeting.
Vice Chair Peloza moved to approve the May 4, 2009 minutes.
Chair Backus concurred.
MOTION CARRIED. 2-0
III. CONSENT ITEMS
A. Vouchers

Claims check numbers 385213 through 385595 in the
amount of $3,158,521.86 and a wire transfer in the amount
of $4,904.00 and dated the 18t" day of May, 2009.
2. Payroll

Payroll check numbers 526423 through 526534 in the
amount of $874,885.76 and electronic deposit transmissions
in the amount of $1,307,216.51 for a grand total of
$2,182,102.27 for the pay period covering April 30, 2009 to
May 13, 2009.

Committee members reviewed the consent items and briefly
discussed claims vouchers 83, 385227, 385251, 385518,
385558, 385563, 385594 and 385568.
B. Repairs to the Golf Course Pumphouse Computer System
Authorization for the equipment purchase. and repair of the golf
course pumphouse computer
Director Faber explained that the computer system that operates
the pump system for the thirteen lower holes for the Auburn Golf
Course is in need of repair. The automatic pump system failed and
golf course staff have been manually turning on and off the system.
The process is labor intensive and does not benefit the system.
The cost of the repairs is $44,000 and will extend the life of the
system another ten to fifteen years.
Vice Chair Peloza moved to approve the consent items. Chair
Backus concurred.
MOTION CARRIED. 2-0.
IV. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS
There was no ordinance or resolution for Committee consideration
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Ordinance No. 6240

An Ordinance relating to Local Improvement District No. 350 fixing
the amount, form, date, interest rate and maturity of the Local
Improvement District No. 350 installment note, providing for the
purchase of such note by the City from funds on deposit in the
Capital Projects Fund, and fixing the interest rate on Local
Improvement District No. 350 assessment installments
Committee members reviewed Ordinance No. 6240.
B. Resolution No. 4481

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Auburn, Washington,
authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to call for a public hearing to
consider adding a new project to the Six Year 2009-2014

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP} for a new traffic signal
at the intersection of 4th Street SE and F Street SE
Committee members reviewed Resolution No. 4481.
Transportation Planner Hankins explained that the resolution sets
the date for a public hearing to consider the addition of a project to
the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program. The proposed
project is for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of
4t" Street SE and F Street SE. The project is fully funded by a
grant.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the
meeting adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
