CALL TO ORDER Chair Suzanne Limric called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. in Conference Room 3 located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA. Committee members present were: Kat Chociej, Mike Harbin, Bill Kyle, Tony Ladner, Lorenzo Ortiz, and Michael Cummings. Members absent were: Gary Masterjohn, Marian Thomas, Darryl Thompson, and Barbara Derda. Staff members present were: Economic Development Planner Al Hicks and Assistant Planning Secretary Laura Pierce. II. REVIEW / APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the March 14, 2006 and March 28, 2006 meetings were discussed and approved as written. III. PCD COMMITTEE REPORT Suzanne Limric, Michael Cummings, Darryl Thompson, and Bill Mandeville gave a presentation at the April 10, 2006 Planning and Community Development (PCD) Committee meeting regarding the grant application and process. PCDC had a lot of questions that were Page 1 Human Services Committee Minutes April 11, 2006 thoroughly explained by the Human Services Committee members. PCDC requested that "faith-based" be added to each of the five areas. PCDC expressed their appreciation for all of the Committee's hard work as well as the hard work of the Planning Department. Al Hicks and David Osaki were very impressed with the presentation given by the Human Services Committee. The Committee would like to hear the recording of the presentation at a future meeting. IV. GRANT APPLICATION Very minor changes were made to the application. V. TIMELINE • Informational Forum for potential applicants in early May - prior to the May 9, 2006 meeting • Applications due June 30, 2006 • Applications processed in June and July • Review applications in July VI. FUTURE TOPICS There may be an extra meeting in late April to prepare for the forum that will be held in early May. At the May and June meetings, the Human Services Committee will discuss the review process and meeting with applicants. There was a discussion of criteria that the Committee will be looking for throughout the application review process. VII. SITE VISITS The desire for site visits will be determined after the review process begins. VIII.
